Hola, I'm Paul Jesus Benites Romero, Product Designer & Strategist.
At the age of 16, I developed a passion for design and began creating my first websites and logos for metal bands. After high school, I undertook an internship as a front-end developer at a communication agency, later deciding to specialize in communication design at the Fondazione Accademia di Comunicazione in Milan.
Upon completing my studies at the academy, where I won a couple of awards, I focused on designing digital products and services, exploring themes such as User Experience (UX), cognitive psychology, Service Design, and Design Thinking.
Over the years, I had the opportunity to work in various settings, including startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and consulting for multinational corporations. Some of the successful companies I have worked with include iGenius, Mia-Platform, Objectway, Notomia, and PwC.
Starting in 2020, with nearly a decade of experience under my belt, I offer my support to individuals, startups, and SMEs in designing digital products and services, helping them achieve their business goals.
Courses, Workshops & Hackathons
I provide online courses and in-person lessons in Lombardy and Lazio, specializing in the design of digital products and innovative services.
By exploring topics such as Design Thinking, User Experience (UX), and Service Design, I share insightful case studies drawn from my past professional experiences and ongoing freelance collaborations.
Moreover, I have acted as a mentor in numerous hackathons, offering guidance and support to teams of students and young professionals as they develop and present their startup concepts.
Since 2016, I have been organizing interactive, collaborative design workshops with the aim of helping both designers and professionals from various fields create digital products that align with business objectives, adhere to technological constraints, and cater to user needs.

Public Speaking
In 2017, together with Marco Santonocito, Head of Product at Talent Garden, I co-founded the first Italian meetup dedicated to Sketch, a software for designing digital interfaces.
Subsequently, I established the thesignof community, which has allowed me to connect with over 2,000 designers throughout Italy.
These two experiences have provided me with the opportunity to deliver numerous presentations and engage with top-level professionals in the field.

I'm a designer, now what?

Awards
Over the years, I've won numerous awards for my design work. Early in my career, I received different accolades for my graphic design projects, including branding, posters, and infographics.
In 2013, while still a student, I won the "Best of Year" Award in Product Design, despite being a Graphic Designer without 3D knowledge. This experience taught me that design can overcome any challenge when focusing on the user, technical feasibility, and project scope.
In 2017, I won the Young Lions Italy award in the design category, alongside my girlfriend and fellow Visual/Product Designer, Valeria Farina.
